How the MLB playoff bracket works
Twelve teams qualify: in each league, the three division winners plus three Wild Card teams. The two division winners with the best records get a bye to the Division Series.
The Wild Card Series is best of three, with every game at the higher seed's park: the 3 seed hosts the 6 and the 4 hosts the 5. The Division Series is best of five, and the League Championship Series and World Series are best of seven. The bracket does not reseed.
