In The Playoffs is a free sports analytics site that publishes daily playoff probabilities for every NHL, NBA, MLB, and NFL team. Every morning it runs 100,000 Monte Carlo simulations of each league's remaining schedule and reports the share of simulations in which each team reaches the postseason.
Every remaining regular-season game is simulated 100,000 times using Elo-style team strength ratings and home-ice, home-court, or home-field advantage, then each league's real playoff and tiebreaker rules are applied. A team's playoff probability is the percentage of those simulations in which it qualifies for the postseason.
Odds refresh every morning at 9 AM ET, after the previous day's games are final. The NHL and NBA cover the 2025–26 season, MLB covers the 2026 season, and the NFL covers the 2026 season.
