Sixteen teams qualify for the NBA Playoffs: seeds 1-6 in each conference advance directly, while seeds 7-10 compete in the Play-In Tournament for the final two spots per conference. Every round is a best-of-seven series.
The four rounds are the First Round, Conference Semifinals, Conference Finals, and the NBA Finals.
Early-season results say little about which teams will make the playoffs, so the model's numbers stay private until every team has played 10 games. The simulation runs every morning from opening night, and the standings page tracks the conference race until the odds go public.
