Once they publish, teams are grouped into six tiers — from playoff locks to long shots — by the same simulation that produces the playoff odds, then ordered within each tier by a power rating that blends winning percentage, playoff probability, and scoring differential. A handful of early results says little about a team's true strength, so the rankings stay private until the odds do. No human voting is involved at any stage.
